Kili Cosplay HOBBIT CAN YOU BELIEVE IT

Guys I know it's been too long but I always forget about this poor blog. That being said - I don't care as it's past midnight and I've been working for approximately 6 hours on various pieces of my Kili costume!!!!

This has been an ongoing project basically since the beginning of the school year. I've collected parts of the outfit for a while and I've had a lot of fun searching for what I needed.

It was fun. Mostly fun. Sort of. Most of the time.

What I mean by my vague sentences is that about 90% of the time I had an incredibly enjoyable time finding things there was still many moments where I didn't know how to make/pay for something.

BUT THAT'S NOT IMPORTANT.
What's important is that the Hobbit is premiering in the US in two days, and I am almost completely ready for it, as far as costumes go!! Pictures will be below. Basically Kili's outfit goes like this: brown pants (tucked into boots); blue longsleeved under-tunic, which goes about to the knees, and has a hood; an under-vest with decorative trim; a big leather coat with half-sleeves and fur trim; chest belt with decorative metal bits and trim, which holds the quiver at the back; belt at the waist; big brown boots with covers and buckles; bracers with decorative stuffs; partially fingerless brown gloves; silver *manly* hair clip.

That's all I can think of right now, and I mostly followed that pattern. Consolidated some stuff, but close enough. You'll see in the pics :D

I'll post myself wearing the whole costume some time tomorrow and then when I get my makeup done by my awesome friend Mandie (who will be Tauriel yyayayay) I'll put stuff up of that.

School year. Wut.

SOOooOOoo.
It's a new school year, and a whole new chapter of mah lyfe. The interesting thing is, what is a chapter of one's life? When does one stop and end? You never actually know.
Last night I read the Fault in Our Stars. It was good. Sad. Philosophical. No, not philosophical. More just a questioning of everything. Is that philosophy? I'm not positive.
Anyway. If you can ignore the paragraph about 3/7 full of question marks above, I've also been doing other things like dreaming about dragons. This also means watching HTTYD about 5 times in 2 weeks. My family thinks I'm insane, and I am perfectly happy. At least, as happy as I can be without seeing HTTYD 2 again. I watched it twice in the theatres, and the release date is coming as soon as possible. Which is not soon enough. In the past I might have watched it online, but that thing called a conscience is not so much pricking as stabbing blindly and with a rage never seen before in an inanimate object, much less a concept, an idea.
Either way, I am positive of one thing, and that is: I do not like the color purple, and I am in love with the Penderwick books. Also I forgot what it was like to laugh out loud at a book, because I haven't read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy in a long while. {While I wait for my library to do the whole very complex business of transferring HGTTG to my shelf, I am reading some books suggested by friends. This is a complicated business.}
Another think I've been thinking about is the upcoming HOBBIT PREMIERE!!!!!!! Oh my lanta I got so excited towards the end of that sentence. Before you try to grill me for embracing what some call "egregious" {http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2013/12/-em-the-hobbit-2-em-is-bad-fan-fiction/282316/}, I, too, weep for the poor lost Hobbit movies, widely off track and full of a lot of weirdness that I'm not sure what to think about, because I didn't have to consider it the first time. Does that sentence make sense? Good. And although Jackson has stretched the movies to three parts - horror of horrors - I do enjoy getting to relive my Tolkien love. When FOTR came out in 2001, I was, sadly, only 4. So. There was not room in my busy schedule of food and mud to dress up for LOTR premieres, which people had dreamed about probably since anything Tolkien wrote had come out back in the strange and faintly beautiful 50s. ANYWAY. I am super excited to dress up, and I shall be a beautifuller version of Kili, come December 17. My awesome friend Miss Mandie will be going as the compelling Tauriel and it is going to be a glorious evening, I seriously can't wait! Anyone else as fanatic as I? Any of you readers {do you exist???} dressing up for the Hobbit premiere?

It was a pleasure to burn.

Ello!
Today I was re-reading Fahrenheit 451, as you may be able to tell from the title of this post.
And I realized how damn much I love books, and how much I would miss them. The power of books, as Beatty explained, is that they are varied. Anyone can write a book about anything they want. You can write about your own philosophy, about what you personally believe, and no one commands what you write.
Books truly represent the free-thinking world, because they are one way things can be passed on. We have books from thousands of years ago, from men and women who would be absolutely astounded by all the modern world is, but we still enjoy and love the ideas they've passed on.
I hereby pledge, that even if the world around me becomes like that of Montag's, I will always gladly defend books.

Huehuehuehuehuehue

I love writing with no plans for a post. So much easier.

I just ate whipped cream and strawberries and I lahved it.

Hey you guys want to hear some funny* puns? Okay? Okay.

Why was the Scarecrow promoted? - Because he was outstanding in his field.
Did you hear about the guy who had to amputate the whole left side of his body? - He's alright now.

I will be back. I have to finish a paper on Infallibility and then one on Caesar and then some language quizzes. #yeahitsstressfulbutitbeatsgrowinglimbsforaliving

*No guarantee if these are actually funny. I have a love-hate relationship with puns and am constantly changing my opinion on whether I like them or not. Have your whipped cream!strawberries and eat it, too.

HIIIIIIII

Hiya. Well, I've been more busy than ever, and we're leaving to go to California for my big brother's graduation on Saturday. (So proud of you, Alex, if you're reading this. <3)
So I'll be gone for a while (not telling how long in case you're rooobbbbbberrrssss), and I just wanted to cut through a few more questions. 14, 15, 16 and 17, ya'll. Hope you enjoy, my lovely readers (if you're out there... 0.o)

14. If you were an animal what would you be and why?
People have told me I'm like a hedgehog. And an otter (funnily enough, the animals the Sherlock fandom have come up with to represent Sherly (Otter) and Watson (Hedgehog).

15. What are your five greatest accomplishments?
Being born. Ayyy *lowers glasses*
Deciding to truly be a Catholic.
Drawing a Tree of Gondor pretty damn perfectly, freehand.
Walking to the library and back in about 6 minutes.
Deleting my Tumblr.

16. What is the thing you most wish you were great at?
Oh gosh. Well, I wish I could write better. I have so many ideas but I don't like taking the time to write them down. That being said, I have a full chapter in my new book :) Yay for progress!
Other than that, being a truly loving person. It's so easy to think of oneself, and forget that things like friendship aren't just for you.

17. What has been the most difficult thing you have had to forgive?
Ahh. I don't think I'll answer this one, because the most difficult thing is something I still stuggle with. So. How about what is my favorite color? Oh excellent question, Mary. Thank you! Very welcome. Now, my favorite color is not sunset orange like Peeta's, but more like a green that is alive. And not the yellow-green of spring's sharp new blades, but more like the sunlight through a leaf green. That, or grey. It's a warm grey, but not yellowish. And it's not blueish either. I think my favorite colors tend to be more of a concept than something actually real. <3 Yay for brains!

Dear Google,

Dear Google,
Hello! It's me, a faithful user of Google/Gmail for the entire time I've had an email, about 5 years. I have younger siblings who have now also gotten email accounts for school purposes, but are restricted from social networking sites for their own safety, and because it's not something they need right now. However, going back on to G+ today, I noticed new G+ accounts had been made for both my sisters. We've deleted these several times, thinking it was just an accidental thing, and once we'd sent our complaint it wouldn't matter anymore. But this is now the 3rd or 4th time it's happened! And I've looked into this; we're not the only ones. (And no, my sisters aren't lying, thank you very much.) Instead of sending another complaint that probably no one will ever see, I am broadcasting this whiny little post. Really, though, it's making me pretty mad that the privacy options my parents have selected for my younger sisters have been ignored. Why is a social media site like G+ making sure my sisters have accounts? To me, this signals the freedoms concerning privacy that we have in real life being completely ignored when you're on the internet. It is not at all right that Google finds it necesarry to undo what we've decided we want as far as social media.

Before you call me a ranting fascist or something stupid like that, I will acknowledge that I know I am using a free site for email/social networking, and that I am in no way obligated to continue using a site like Google. However, it is an efficient tool that I appreciate. If Google wishes me to be satisfied with their product, which I assume is their goal, then they would abide by the settings their users decide fit for them. Stop mucking about with our privacy options Google!

Pro libertati!

Ohh boy

I wish I was that blogger person who blogs every week and is very funny and sarcastic and amusing, but the truth is that I do not have the time. :D Maybe when I am a hundred years old I will come on and give you all recipes for the best margarita and snickerdoodles.

The least I can do for the moment is tell you that I am heavily occupied with school (actually currently on an Ancient History class-- we're discussing Maccabees, which is amazing!), and my job, and hobbies. Especially reading and drawing the White Tree of Gondor. I'm trying to get the Tree correct free-hand, without having to look at a picture. It's harder than it sounds :)

Besides all this, I am . . . GOING TO ITALY IN MAY!!!

My most amazing Nonna and my most beautiful sister and I are going to Florence for about 3 weeks. We'll spend our time in Fiesole, and hopefully make a trip to Rome. :)

Anyway. More later!
